A Secretaria Nacional Antidrogas SENAD/GSI/PR, a Secretaria Nacional de Segurança Pública SENASP/MJ, o Departamento de Policia Federal, e o ICOS estão realizando o primeiro Simpósio Internacional Sobre Segurança Pública e Políticas Publicas sobre Drogas, que se realizará nos dias 25, 26 e 27 de fevereiro, no Hotel Sofitel no Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

Este evento reunirá autoridades internacionais, especialistas e legisladores para discutir os desafios mais urgentes encarados pela segurança pública e pelos profissionais da área. Em particular traçar os caminhos para se entender o impacto do problema das drogas na segurança pública, e a relação entre política das drogas e segurança pública.

Co-hosted by the Brazilian National Antidrug Secretariat SENAD/GSI/PR, Ministry of Justice’s National Public Security Secretariat SENASP/MJ, Directorate of the Federal Police, and ICOS are hosting The First International Symposium on Public Security and Drug Policy, which will take place in the 25th, 26th and 27th of February, at the Sofitel Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This event brings together international authorities, experts and policy makers to discuss the most pressing challenges facing public security and law enforcement. In particular the ways in which the problem of drugs impact on public security, and the relationship between drug policy and public security policies will be explored.

SESSÃO I: SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA E A PROBLEMÁTICA DAS DROGAS
Autoridades brasileiras e internacionais que atuam diretamente na redução da oferta e da demanda de drogas farão exposições demonstrando o impacto que a problemática das drogas tem no dia a dia das atividades de segurança pública, e quais os caminhos que estão sendo adotados para a minimização do problema.

SESSION I: PUBLIC SECURITY AND THE PROBLEM OF DRUGS
Brazilian and International authorities who directly participate in the actions for the reduction of both supply and demand of drugs will make presentations, demonstrating the impact that the problem of drugs has on day to day public security activities, and what steps are being taken to minimize the problem.


SESSÃO II: NARCOTRÁFICO E SEGURANÇA INTERNACIONAL
Nesta sessão serão abordados o narcotráfico internacional e crimes conexos. Os palestrantes apresentarão as implicações que as organizações criminosas, notadamente de narcotraficantes, trazem para a segurança regional, hemisférica e global. Os novos grupos, redes e conexões criminosas em operação no mundo e as ações dos países neste enfrentamento.

SESSION II: NARCOTRAFFIC AND INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
In this session the subject of international narco-trafficking and connected crimes will be discussed. The speakers present the implications that criminal organizations, especially narco-traffickers bring for regional, hemispheric and global security. The new groups, networks and criminal connections in operation around the world and actions needed to confront them will be presented.


SESSÃO III: JUVENTUDE E NARCOTRÁFICO: FATORES DE RISCO E PROTEÇÃO
Os palestrantes irão abordar o consumo e o tráfico de drogas na perspectiva social, assim como os aspectos legais e os fatores de risco e proteção para a juventude.

SESSION III: YOUTHS AND NARCOTRAFFIC: FACTORS OF RISK AND PROTECTION
The speakers will approach the consumption of drugs from a social perspective, such as the legal aspects and factors of risk and protection for youths.
